Mrs. Vera M. Thompson was the "consummate" educator. I witnessed this characteristic in her when I did my student teaching at Alabama State Laboratory High School in 1962. Vera was always proactive in her work. Without a doubt she contributed greatly to my ability to teach French. I proudly observed her progress in her career to become an extraordinary school administrator. I wish the best for her family. Long live her legacy of love of family and education.

With sorrow to the Thompson Family.

Mrs. Thompson was a strong, courageous, and elegant woman who was phenomenal. She was an inspiration to myself as so many others and I admired her for the person she was. I worked under Mrs. Thompson for a couple of years, and during that time I grew to love her dearly both as an employer and a friend. She has earned her "Wings" and is a member of the "Heavenly Choir". She will be missed dearly.

I will miss, Mrs. Vera Thompson. She was my Assistant Principal, when I taught at Bellingrath. She was ALWAYS SUCH a WOMAN of DISTINCTION! I admired her for many reasons: She was poised, elegant, professional; but most of all she was SO CARING and LOVING towards my family and I. I dare to say that, I think she was modest about her BEAUTIFUL SINGING VOICE, too! I BELIEVE she is SINGING WITH the HEAVENLY CHOIR! THANK YOU, MRS. VERA THOMPSON FOR YOUR EXAMPLE, LOVE, AND KINDNESS. ENJOY YOUR HEAVENLY HOME!!!-FROM: YOLANDA WILLIAMS HAWKINS UMOJAMAY.
