Doris Elizabeth Faulkner Adkinson, 86, of Lynchburg, passed away on July 22, 2016 at the Lynchburg Nursing Center. She was born on March 12, 1930 to the late Hubert and Naoma Reynolds Faulkner. A member of the Lynchburg First Baptist Church, she worked in food service management, enjoyed crafts, cooking, gardening and visiting with grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Sherry (Billy) Bateman of Chapel Hill; and two sons, Johnny Mark Woodard of Tullahoma, and Kenneth Woodard of Booneville. Surviving also are sisters Shirley (Matt) Galati of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., and Elouise Lynn of Birmingham, Ala.; one brother, Jay (Marge) Faulkner of Brooklyn, Mich.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 24 at Lynchburg Funeral Home, with Bro. Michael Davenport officiating. Burial followed at Booneville Cemetery.
