January 17, 1948 - May 9, 2023
Linda Church Hastings, 75, of Morganton, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at UNC Healthcare Blue Ridge following a period of declining health.
Linda was born January 17, 1948 in Watauga County to the late Rufus Church and Pauline Parlier. She attended River of Life Church and was a devoted daughter, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her father and mother, she is preceded in death by her husband Larry Hastings; brother, Larry Church, and stepbrothers, Michael Burleson, Allen Burleson, and Ray Burleson.
She is survived by her stepmother, Shirley Church; son, Randy Chester and wife Robin, and son Gary Patel; goddaughter, Bina Patel; stepchildren, Larry Hastings, and Heather Hastings; and grandchildren, Emily Propst and husband Adam, Sarah Chester, Marcus Chester, and Pratham Patel. Also surviving is brother, Tommy Church; great-grandson, Rhett Propst; sister-in-laws, Christine Braidwood, Adene James and husband Bobby, and Connie Hastings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11 a.m. at River of Life with Pastor Allen King officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at River of Life.
Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
