Ray Mull Obituary

Ray Wilson Mull Sr., 82, of Wilson Drive in Morganton died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Valdese following a period of declining health.
He was born Dec. 26, 1927, in Burke County to the late Baxter Mull and Florence E. Mace Mull. Ray served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and attended the First Assembly of God.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Venus Woody Mull; children Diane Turbyfill and husband Roger of Conover, Marsha Giles and husband Ernie of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Ray Mull Jr. and wife Amie of Morganton; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Kathleen McIntosh and Hazel Guffey, both of Morganton.
Private graveside services will be at Burke Memorial Park with Pastor Daniel Smith officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690 or to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd. Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852-9813.
