I worked with Clarence at GLC in late 70´s through the mid 80´s. We played softball and basketball together throughout those years. He was a tremendous athlete and had the heart of a lion. When we played morning league, he would go to Shuey Field after working night shift and sleep in his car until game time. Then would play ball, he probably got very little sleep after that because he would also play in the evening with a couple of more teams!
I got laid off and got on with BASF in `85 and I don´t think I ever saw Clarence again. But, it truly saddened my heart to learn of his passing and set off a flood of memories of my teammate, workmate and most of all, my friend.
