James John Stang

1937 - 2020

James John Stang, 83, of Grafton passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Villa Camillus in Columbia Station. He was born April 13, 1937. Jim was the co-owner of Stang Motors. He proudly served his Country in the Navy. Jim was a 4th degree K of C, was a member of the Road Roamers Club, and Moose Club of Elyria. Jim was a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School and Oberlin School of Commerce. He enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing, bowling, playing cards, and he had a love for Corvettes, with a special love for his family. Survivors include his wife Linda (nee Simashkevich); daughters, Diane (Keith) Thiebaud of Wooster, Debbie (Jack) Siffert of Elyria, Judy (David) Sargent of N. Ridgeville, Brenda Wacker of Westlake; son, Jim (Amy) of Elyria ; grandchildren, Kristen (Josh) Newton, Allison (Chris) Beck, Emily Siffert, Lauren Siffert, Kayla Stang, Sarah Sargent, Lucy Sargent, Megan Wacker, Madeline Wacker, Liam Wacker; brother Robert (Judy) of Vermilion. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Lucille Stang (nee Spaeth); sister Marilyn Tracey. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at St. Mary Church. Rev. Fr. Charles Diedrick was the Celebrant. Burial was held at St. Mary Cemetery (Elyria), where full military honors were held by Amvets Post # 32. In lieu of flowers family suggests those who wish may make donations to St. Mary Church.
