Julie Neely Obituary

Julie Mae Neely, beloved family member and friend to many, passed away January 11th, during a hospital stay in Elyria, Ohio with her family by her side.
Julie was born August 10, 1945, in Norwalk, Ohio and spent all her years in the Lorain County area. She truly loved her state of Ohio and her favorite place on earth was her home in Amherst where she enjoyed crocheting, listening to music, and cooking big meals for her family and friends (the more the merrier) and spending time with her little dog named Daisy. However, that down time was much deserved since Julie worked her whole life, sometimes three jobs at a time, and had a work ethic that was unrivaled.
Julie worked at Monumental Life Insurance Company for 24 years; Amherst Hospital and Lakeland Guidance Center for over a dozen; and retired from Ohio Edison as an Advanced Distribution Associate in the Engineering Department, retiring in 2009 after 20 years of faithful service. (Julie had a cherished circle of coworkers that she loved at every establishment.)
Julie is survived by her children, Dawn Neely-Randall and Gary (Brenda) Neely; five grandchildren (Crystal Hall; China Hall; Nicholas Neely; Christian Neely; Hannah Neely); her father Oswald (Lieselotte) Kinat; and her sister's children who are like her own, Troy Dunn and Kimberly Dunn.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Pauline Hunt and two cherished sisters Susanne Byrne and Barbara Dunn.
The family wishes you to know that if anyone ever left the world without one enemy, it was Julie Neely. If ever anyone loved unconditionally, it was Julie. If ever anyone worked so hard her entire life and lived selflessly to help others, it was Julie, a special encourager to many. She loved her Lord; she loved her children, grandchildren, and family and friends he gifted to her; and she was a good and faithful servant until the very end. She will be missed more than mere words can ever be written.
A Celebration of Life service entitled Julie's Jubilee will be held at DeLuca's Place in the Park in Lorain on Saturday, January 17th at 12:00 p.m. with a luncheon immediately following. Her cousin Pastor Scott Mitchell will be officiating. A private memorial will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the The Salvation Army, 205 Artino Street, Suite C., Oberlin, Ohio, 44074.
The Hempel Funeral Home is honored to serve the Julie Neely family and has made available for the community's convenience an on-line register book as well as additional information to help facilitate expressions of compassion. Log on at www.hempelfuneralhome.com.
