I've known Chef Dillon since he started at Scioto Country Club back in 2005. We are all still in shock over the news of his passing. He was a great guy, caring, full of wit and sarcasm, and drove his staff to be the best they could. He will forever be missed. My thoughts are with you all.

Our hearts are broken. He is irreplaceable to us, personally, and to our club. He was the man I always wanted to see and hug whenever we went to the club. I was constantly giving him cards and compliments because his talents were so broad and delicious, not just cooking, but making every dollar go the maximum distance, and treating everyone like you were his best friend. He made so many of our special events absolutely perfect with his loving attention. There was always the fear that someplace would entice him away, closer to home, and loosing him was not an option. And, yet, here we all are. Without him. We will always love and miss you! Love always, Sandra & Dave Hammond

I went to Catholic school with Kieran and I can still picture him in the halls, always smiling. I actually can recall when I first met him because I had to ask him several times to tell me how to say and spell his name. He was as unique as was his name at the time.
His grin made you wonder what he was up to, or what just happened that was so funny. You knew if he was around you would laugh and have fun.
Just a few weeks ago my son met someone named Kieran and I told him about the "Kieran" I knew from my childhood. Truly brought a smile to my face.
I am so saddened at this news and what you are all going through at this time. There really are no words to lessen the pain right now. You are in my prayers.

Here's to Dillon. I worked with him at Kent State University in the early 90s. We served thousands of dinner guests at many years' worth of banquets. For quite a while, I didn't even know that he had a first name.

A few months ago I found his name online and discovered that he worked right down the street from my home in Columbus. We wrote back and forth and tentatively planned to meet up at some point. That never happened.

My condolences to his wife and daughters.

Jen, Keira and Katie,

The Scioto CC community has lost a dear friend and colleague. Chef Dillon was a pillar at our Club and was loved and respected by our staff and membership. It has been my pleasure to have worked with Kieran these many years and he was a most thoughtful, caring and intelligent person whose impact goes well beyond being an executive chef. His incredible personality, his concern for his staff and others, and his loyalty to all of those whose lives he touched was evident every day. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and while we will never be able to fill the void, we will certainly honor the memories.

Today I got the message. The man I called Chef has gone to the Light. Chef Dillon Thank you! Being your apprentice and accomplishing what I have will always be my savings grace. Wish I could have thanked you in life. With your guiding grace, I am the first Hispanic female in the state of Ohio to accomplish what I did. The ACF Hispanic Sous Chef will always be proud and honored to be called your Apprentice. I thank you always.

I knew Kieran well at Columbia. As House Committee Chairman we worked very closely together. He made our dining room click, was creative in bringing more members to the table than anyone before or after his time with us; we hated to lose him but the opportunity at Sciota, one of the countries renowned clubs was such a deserved honor for him; my friends at Sciota have told me how much he was loved there still wearing his beloved baseball hat.
One year in the off season my wife and I were having a party at home and I mentioned it to Dillon for some ideas; without batting an eye he said my wife and I will be glad to come and work your party.
He was a creative legend at CHCC and has been missed since he left. My thoughts and prayers are with his family; always remember him as a great human being!!

I had the pleasure of growing up 2 doors from this super funny all around nice guy. It was the time when the neighborhood kids played outside from the time the sun came up until the street lights came on. For so many years we did everything from building snow forts to playing king of the mountain, kick the can, running bases (where he and the others made me the official runner), horse on his driveway, tennis against our garage door, cops & robbers, many games of baseball in the church parking lot. (Yeah that was us who broke many windows). We made mud pies, scratched off the covers of golf balls on the driveway until the rubber bands pinged everywhere, and spent hours riding our bikes on the paths in the field behind our homes. We climbed the crab apple tree in the field and caught tadpoles in the creek at least 1000x together. Kieran never wasted a moment to remind me that I was a just a girl when the rest of the boys in the neighborhood were around. What they didn't know is that he would always secretly tell me that I was better than all of them because I was a girl. We even rocked the bumper of my dad's Mustang until it slipped out of gear and rolled down the driveway into the street. Oh man we got in trouble for that one! So many great childhood memories with such a great guy. Rest In Peace, Kieran! You will always hold a special place in the hearts of everyone on Marshall Avenue.

We went to Lorain Catholic with Kieran and were shocked and saddened to learn about his passing.

With our daughter planning her wedding, it has brought back memories from ours including the most generous and beautiful ice sculpture that Kieran provided for our celebration many years ago. It was magnificent and we were so grateful to him for sharing his talents.

Our deepest condolences to the family. Eternal rest grant unto Kieran, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the Peace of Christ be with you all.
