Michael E. "Big Mike" Sadowski

Amherst Township: Michael E. “Big Mike� Sadowski, 66, of Amherst Township, died Tuesday October 18, 2022 following a lengthy illness. He was born in Lorain on September 19, 1956 to Eugene & Rosemary Sadowski (nee Breznai). Mike was a 1974 graduate of Marion L. Steele High School in Amherst and graduated from Lorain County Community College with an Associate Degree in Business. He worked at Sears for 26 years as a Sales Manager then changed careers working as a Manufacturing Technician at PolyOne for 20 years. Mike loved cycling and participated in the 100-mile bike ride to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis. He was an avid military collector and continuous learner through his love of reading. He enjoyed yard work, following Cleveland sports teams and, most importantly, spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Brenda Sadowski (nee Pierce), sons: Michael Sadowski (Kristen) and Derek Sadowski (Kelli), grandchildren: Max, Gianna, Elijah, Kennedy & Reagan, all of Amherst; brothers Paul Sadowski (Deborah) of Amherst Township and John Sadowski (Elizabeth) of Fort Myers, Florida along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends Sunday October 23, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday October 24, 2022 at 9:15 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St Joseph Dr, Amherst. The Rev Timothy O’Connor, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain. Memorial contributions can be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
