To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I am so delighted and grateful to have spent some of my time with you (Bertha). Although I was very small, but I remember how you and Elder Kenan would come and spent the night with us and bring your children. We lived in Rose Hill, and it was just a pleasure to see you in all of those wonderful prayer meetings in beulaville, NC. Thanks so much for your good words of wisdom, as I spoke with you a few months ago. My love and prayer continues to be with your family.

I offer my deepest sympathy to the Kenan family.I grew up in Midland and attended Faith Temple as a child.Sis Kenan was a powerful woman of God. Just keep in mind that God does not make mistakes. He called a true soldier home, because her work down here was finished. Right now I believe she is saying "All of my good days, out weighed all of my bad days, and Lord, I Won't complain."

It is with my deepest sympathy, to hear of First Lady Kenan's passing. As a young girl, I remember how beautiful she was and how she would sing under the anointing. My prayers go out to the entire family. All my love.

We would often see her as she would be driving by our house she would always wave and smile. She was on her "mission" to somewhere to be of service to someone. She loved her family, church, and community.She was also very elegant. Beautiful inside and out.She has showed us all what a woman of excellence looks like. We will definitely miss her. To Pastor Kenan and Family. I had the pleasure of meeting Sis. Kenan at the beauty shop during easter or so this year. It was one of the most memorable two hours that I have had in the spirit of the Lord. I could see nothing but the Lord in her; she was a blessing to my soul. I am so sad at your loss and I'm sure there is nothing that I can say that will ease your pain. Just know this, that She blessed my soul and I have met only a handful of people that I can say that I have truly seen the Lord in them and she was one. My prayers are with you always.

The children, youth, and youth leaders of Faith Temple COGIC express our love to the Kenan Family, and we cherish and appreciate Mother Kenan for her unconditional dedication and support to the youth ministry. Mother Kenan always supported the events and activities of the youth, and even when she was not able to actively participate, she made sure she helped sponsor the events or bought gifts for the youth. Our youth at FT know how much Mother Kenan loves them because she not only said it but showed it, and they will remember her acts of kindness and charity throughout their lives. Pastor Kenan and Family,
You all played an important part in my life starting in Farmington, New Mexico in 1970. It was because of you and Sis. Kenan preaching and teaching the Word of God at the Power House Church of God In Christ in Farmington that I accepted Christ as my personal Saviour. You and Sis. Kenan always treated me as your daughter and I love you for that. You were always concerned about my well being and my relationship with Christ even though we lived miles apart. You all will always remain special in my heart. So today, my heart is also heavy, but not as one who has no hope, because I know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Still, I will missed Sis. Kenan and the wonderful visits and telephone calls we shared. Thank you and Sis. Kenan for sowing into my life and my family's life.

Words cannot adequately express how Missionary Kenan has impacted so many lives. She had a loving spirit and a kind heart – the BEST First Lady any church could have. She was a pastors’ wife with a pastor’s heart. She had a lot of concern for the flock, also. She was the type of woman that could be what was needed in any situation.
