Daisy Mae Atchison

Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Mae Atchison will be Friday, April 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Reverend Ronald Vandyke will officiate. Daisy Mae Atchison went home to live with her Heavenly Father on April 3, 2016. She was born in Hearne, Texas on September 29, 1926 to the late Mr. Dennis and Mrs. Daisy Morrison. She was one of seven children born to that union. She attended public school in Hearne, Texas. Daisy first met Jaye L. Sullivan Sr.; they were married in Hearne, Texas and two children were born to that union. She later met and married Eddie Lee Atchison Sr. They started their lives together in Lamesa, Texas and nine children were born to that union. They moved the family to Midland, Texas in 1966, where they had 34 years of marriage before he passed away. Daisy Mae loved to sing, sew, and serve the Lord. She spent many days at the Southeast Senior Citizen's Center painting and working with ceramics, and enjoying the company of her friends. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Midland. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters and two brothers; and by her children, Eddie Lee Atchison Jr., Larry Lee Atchison, Terry Lee Atchison, and Sonya Lynette Atchison. To cherish her memories, she leaves her children, J. L. Sullivan (Narvie), Willie L. Sullivan, Joyce Sullivan, Joyce Ann Edwards, Rose Mary Young (John), William Atchison, Glendora Pryor, and Jessie Lee Atchison all of Midland; as well as 23 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren. Daisy also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and many, many, other relatives and friends. Burial will be in Resthaven North, under the direction of Thomas Funeral Home.
