Craig Steven Atchison passed away peacefully on January 31st, 2026. Craig was born on February 1st, 1963 in Kansas City, Missouri to Penny and William Atchison.
Craig was a devoted husband of 30 years to Angela Atchison and a loving father to Brooke Atchison and Christina Daniel (Ethan). He was a proud grandfather to Jason Jerde. He was preceded in death by his son Nicholas Jerde, his brother Dennis Atchison and his parents Penny and Bill.
After graduating from Raytown High School in 1981, Craig worked as a machinist for over 30 years, a career that reflected his strong work ethic, skill, and dedication. Outside of work, he found true joy in farming, Nascar, and his animals, passions that brought him peace and purpose.
Above all, Craig valued his family and the simple, meaningful moments spent together. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, loyalty, and the love he had for those closest to him.
A visitation will be held Saturday, February 7th at Speaks Suburban Chapel of Independence at 1:00pm, followed by a graveside service at Mount Saint Marys Cemetery of Kansas City.
The family welcomes donations of meals to the home in lieu of flowers.
