Robert Charles Holzheuser

Robert Charles Holzheuser, 87, of Midland passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018, in Midland. He was born March 13, 1930 in El Paso, Texas to Harry and Mary Holzheuser. Robert attended Marfa High School, graduating in 1948. He attended Sul Ross College in Alpine, Texas, Texas Western University in El Paso and graduated from College of the Southwest. Hobbs, New Mexico in 1970. He served in the US Army Reserve from 1951 to 1960 and worked for El Paso Natural Gas from 1956 until his retirement in 1988. He met Lora Smith, the love of his life, in 1948 and they married on March 20, 1950 in Hobbs, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Nora Heady, and a granddaughter, Dona Montoya. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lora Holzheuser of Midland; his son, Randy Holzheuser and his wife, Mollye, of Sour Lake, Texas; his brother, Louis Holzheuser and his wife, Sandy, of Ft. Davis, Texas; a grandson, Charles Heady and his wife, Tia, of Midland; his granddaughters, Gena Heady of Mabank, Texas and Danielle Holzheuser of Bastrop, Texas; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the 8th floor staff at MMH; staff at Manor Park Rehab; Star Hospice; Dr. P. K. Patel and the loving care from his sitters, Lydia Torres and Brandy Cothern. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at The Branch at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, 3800 N. Big Spring Street, Midland, Texas.
