Robert "Bobby" Luna

Robert "Bobby" Luna, 51, of Midland, Texas, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 in Midland. Bobby was born April 7, 1966 to Richard and Janie Luna in Lamesa, Texas. He attended Lamesa High School from which he graduated. Bobby met the love of his life and best friend, Mary, in 1998. They began their life together with his children on July 1, 1999. He was a loving and caring father who loved his children with all his heart. Bobby was a volunteer for the Lamesa Fire Department and the EMS in Lamesa, where he was a certified CPR Instructor. He also coached his son Landan's Little League team, a memory he cherished till his passing. Bobby worked for TXU/Oncor for 33 years, starting with TXU in Lamesa and later transferring to Midland where he worked until his passing. A unique soul who loved spending time on his boat with family. He had an amazing heart with a humble spirit who would do anything for anyone. He was a loving Pops who loved his grandchildren very much. He was the best Pops. Bobby is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Maria and Ascension Luna, and his maternal grandparents, Jose and Eufemia Garcia. Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Mary; children, LaRissa McAlpine and her husband, Steven of Seminole; son, Landan Luna and Bailey Bryan of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jett, Liam, and Rylie; parents, Richard and Janie Luna of Lamesa; brother, Sam Luna and wife, Sabrina of Lubbock, Texas; sisters, Laura Rodriguez and husband, Carlos, Letricia Rodriquez and husband, LeRoy all of Midland; nieces and nephews, Lane Luna, Hanna Luna, Hallie Luna of Lubbock, Derek Rodriguez, Denise Rodriguez, Gabby Rodriquez, and Christian Rodriquez, all of Midland; and his great-nieces, Alyssa Rodriguez and Gia Lara of Midland. Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at San Miguel Catholic Church in Midland. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 26, 2018 at San Miguel Catholic Church in Midland, with Father Patrick Akpanobong officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa. Pallbearers will be Sam Luna, Lane Luna, Carlos Rodriguez, Derek Rodriguez, LeRoy Rodriquez, and Christian Rodriquez. Honorary pallbearer will be Vickie Cordova. Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home of Odessa.
