Bill is a patriot who will always be remembered for his avid support of the Confederate Air Force, particularly, when we first moved to Midland from Harlingen. His cheerful, unselfish and giving personality will always be part of the long tradition started by Lloyd Nolen and Lefty Gardner. Those of us who interacted with Bill in his thoughtful support and critical donation(s) to the CAF will miss him. In the finest tradition of the CAF, we will endeavor to keep his vision, along with the founders, a living memorial to our service men and women, our country and to Bill Blakemore. He enriched our lives.

On a summer day in 1969 Bill's parents and mine with there young sons were given the nichel tour of TMI. I remember he had the same deer in the headlight look that I must have had. Bill was always kind, confident and happy. We were friends from that first day. We all were lucky to have known him!

My deepest sympathy for the Blakemore family as they pass through this difficult time of losing sweet Bill. He was such a kind, gentle soul with a big heart...much like Mr. B. Sr. This whole family has given me many wonderful memories of happy times from the ranch life to the big city life and I truly cherish them all in my heart! Peace, blessings and much love,

I attended TMI in the 7th grade and was one of the youngest boarders at the school. Even though Bill was high school age, he took the time to be my friend and made me feel at ease in my new surroundings. I will always remember his kindness. That was just the kind of man Bill was. He will be greatly missed.

Growing up in Midland in the Sixties, Bill and I were joined at the hip for many of those years. I always looked forward to spending the night at The Blakemore's as they had so much fun stuff to do. The pool, the go karts, the old Model'T'and plenty of bicycles--all things I didn't have at my own home. It was nirvana for kids. I remember an endless supply of Dr Pepper in the fridge and how loving Wilma was to me and all the Blakemore children. I was always treated like I was part of the family. The summers on Iron Mountain were the best, and we explored the entire mountain, always to come back to the ranch house for a terrific meal. I remember getting in trouble when Bill and I played The Beatles' "Why Don't We Do It In The Road" over the PA system, thinking we were really hilarious. There are so many more wonderful memories flooding my mind right now. My sincere condolences go out to all of the Blakemores, Jim, Bruce, Margene, Jenny and to Susan, Will and Bell. Bill was a true, dear friend to me and I will always keep his friendship alive in my heart.
