David Curtis Bowman, age 59, of Denton, passed away on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024. David was born on Aug. 1, 1965, in Surry County to Clarence Edward Bowman and Elizabeth Branham Bowman. David attended and graduated from Mt. Airy High School. Following graduation, he went to college to become an HVAC technician. He was an Eagle Scout and spent many years as a Scout Master. David had a strong Christian faith, loved his animals, going to the beach, watching westerns and anything about WWII. He was quite the jokester and loved bring joy and positive vibes into the lives of anyone he met. David will be missed by all who knew him. David is survived by his wife, Monique Norris Bowman; his father-in-law, Waylon Norris and his mother-in-law, Rozella Norris; four sisters, Judy Clodfelter (Charlie), Ellen Adams (Tim), Ann Walker (Steve), Gay Owenby; his sister-in-law, Michelle Shaffer; three nephews, Judson Adams (Stacie), Curt Walker (Stacie), Noah Bowman (Courtney); one niece, Jennifer Dillman (Harold) as well as many great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Barry Owenby. A funeral service for David will be held on Friday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. at Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations, 18 Randolph Street, Thomasville, North Carolina 27360. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Summerville Fellowship Hall Sunday School Class, 3134 Summerville Church Road, Denton, NC 27239.
