Arthur Joseph Bugni
September 28, 1933 - February 12, 2024
BUTTE - Arthur Joseph Bugni passed away Monday evening, February 12, 2024 at St. James Healthcare in Butte. He was born in Butte, Thursday, September 28, 1933 to Charles A. and Eva (Cerise) Bugni. Art attended local schools and graduated from Butte High School. He later attended Armstrong College in Berkeley, California and earned a degree in business management from the University of California. He joined the United States Navy in 1952 and served in the Korean War.
Following his honorable discharge Arthur began his career in the real estate department of the Wester Pacific Railroad. He spent the majority of his working career in California and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1989.
Art married Anne English in California and she preceded him in death in 1988. Together they had two daughters and served as foster parents for some 45 other children. Also preceding him in death are both his parents and his brothers: Lawrence and Matt "Pat" Bugni.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and Buck Perano of Cedar Park, Texas, Kelly and Marty Riddle of Placerville, California; step-daughter, Kristine Everett of California; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Bugni and sister, Marie "Babe" Bajovich both of Butte, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Cremation has taken place. Entombment services were conducted Friday afternoon in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum.
