Thomas J. Bugni, 82, of Kingsford, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, at Evergreen Meadows in Norway.
Born April 1, 1942, in Iron Mountain, Tom was the son of the late Peter and Inez (Rocconi) Bugni. He graduated from Stephenson High School in 1960 and went on to attend Northern Michigan University where he was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Tom eventually obtained his Master's Degree from Central Michigan University. On August 17, 1968, Tom married his true love, Mary Kay Lundy, in Iron Mountain. She preceded him in death in 2020.
Tom was a dedicated family man, educator, and community member. He found great joy in sharing his knowledge with others. His teaching career spanned many years and covered several subjects, including art, history, and technology. Tom was a long-time St. Mary Queen of Peace Church member in Kingsford, participated in the Golden K, and volunteered with Friends of the Braumart. He was an avid cross-country and downhill skier, serving on the National Ski Patrol in his earlier years and later working as a PSIA Certified Ski Instructor at Pine Mountain. His appreciation for the outdoors extended to camping, bicycling, and canoeing/kayaking. Woodworking and reading were among his favorite pastimes.
