February 26, 1942 - January 17, 2025
Kathy Mary (Maier) Goplen, born February 26, 1942, in Killdeer, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025. Daughter of Mary and Stanley Maier, Kathy lived a life filled with love, compassion, and an appreciation for nature's beauty.
The Maier family moved to Wichita, Kansas, then North Dakota, and later settled in Butte, Montana, where Kathy attended Girls Central High School and made lifelong friends.
Kathy married Herb Allen (1964-1974) and lived in Anaheim, CA, for 29 years while building a rewarding career in the medical industry. In her later years, she resided in Jerome, Idaho, with her son, Chris.
Kathy's love for flowers and animals brought her joy, reflected in her vibrant garden and cherished pets. She is survived by her son, Chris M. Allen (Carolyn); five stepdaughters: Melinda Bunn (Bill), Lisa Belmonte, Kristin Goplen-Howes (Jerry), Nira Goplen-Barry (Don), and Greta Goplen; and two brothers, Dick and Bob Maier.
She now reunites with her parents and her true love, Otto Ray Goplen (1974-2011).
A Celebration of Kathy's Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Farnsworth Mortuary & Crematory in Jerome, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter.
