Mr. Michael Patrick "Mick" O'Brien passed away on August 27, 2024. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am in St. Ann's Catholic Church on September 20, 2024. A complete obituary will be published in a later edition of the Montana Standard.

To Mlck's family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Mick from day 1 of grade school at The Ryan House (before the new addition at St Ann was finished) back in 1949. I have lived away from Butte for many years but have fond memories of special friends from that era. Also enjoyed visiting at class reunions for Butte Central class of 1961. Mick was a special person and will not be forgotten.

My heart is so broken, you fought so hard to stay. I know you are at peace, your faith brought you to a better place. The lessons you taught your grandkids will be passed to the next generation. When you walk through the gates of heaven be proud of a life well lived. We will stay the course down here and make you proud. I remember after a family friend passed away, you gave me a hug and said in strong gentle voice “He lived a good life.” I know that is your message to me, I can feel in my heart. Mick and I were drafted into the Army at the same time. Somehow, we were able to rendezvous in Australia for R&R. Mick pulled the greatest prank of all time on me that I’ll never forget. Anyway, I loved Mick’s sense of humor, the twinkle in his eye and his kindness.
