Donna Iversen Obituary

Donna A. Iversen

Brick - Donna passed away on April 5.2021 at age 83. She lived in NJ most of her life, briefly living in Bradenton, Florida after her retirement from Lucent Technologies in October, 2001. Donna was a 1955 graduate of Rahway High School in Rahway, NJ, and the Washington School for Secretaries in Newark, NJ.

She and her husband Arnold, who pre-deceased her in January 2008, shortly after they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She is survived by 4 children and their spouses; Joy Christa Betman (Donald), Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Marcy Ann Ricca (Louis), Branchburg, NJ; James Martin Iversen (Jacqueline), Lloyd Harbor, NY; and Karin Lynn Kosenski (Edward), Frederick, MD. There are also 9 grandchildren; Dylan Betman, Shane Betman, Nicole Ricca, Hannah Iversen, Ian Iversen, Alana Iversen, Kira Kosenski, Jillian Kosenski and Erin Kosenski, and 2 great granddaughters, Ella Betman & Avery Betman.

While living in Jackson Donna was an active member of the Jackson Fire Department (District 3) - Ladies Auxiliary. Upon moving to Florida she became very active with the Southeastern Guide Dogs in Palmetto, Florida. She and her husband raised several guide dog puppies. Donna was also a foster mom to the breeder dogs for the school, and she volunteered in many capacities at the school as well. In addition, Donna volunteered at Manatee Memorial Hospital, the Sarasota/Bradenton Airport as an Ambassador, St. Joseph's Food Pantry, Salvation Army, and was also President of the Bradenton BOA (Best of Attitude) group. When she moved back to NJ in 2011, she became active with many committees in Lions Head South, including being the chairperson of the Lions Head South Website Committee. She also volunteered at the Ocean County Medical Center in Brick, and the Destiny Food Pantry in Brick. She enjoyed socializing with her good friends and neighbors. I first met Donna in kindergarten. She moved and I didn't meet her again till 8th grade and we were friends ever since, I miss her everyday. We had alot of good times together and also shared some sad times, Rest in peace my friend.

Only good things can be said about Donna. She was a good friend. We chatted a lot about our great grandchildren, our families, our health and our age. She always got us a table at the High School for lunch. I will miss her.

If you’re lucky enough, one day in your lifetime you will have a friend like Donna. She will be sorely missed by so many, including my PringleBoy. I know she’s found my Ruffino up there! Together they are running free, happy and free of pain. Donna’s still making
