I sit in solace, and remember,
On this somber day in December,
The day my soulmate, entered this earth,
Who changed my life, and gave it it's worth.
A star who shone bright, for all her days,
Who touched my life, in so many ways.
She gave me unconditional love,
But alas it now, comes from above.
Not a mean word, said of another,
Animals loved, as if she's their mother.
Carried herself, with kindness and grace,
With smiles upon, her beautiful face.
She and I've been through heaven and hell,
The best of days, and the worst as well.
Together we always, found a way,
To make the best, of every day.
Of memories made, I'll never forget,
There's only one, I'll ever regret.
Leaving each other, was the big mistake,
My soul, it has never, stopped to ache.
Though she has passed, she lives in my heart,
Though she's not here, we're never apart.
I'll love you dear Holly, until I die,
Then Moon and Star, will light the night sky.

I love this Farewell Song, a traditional and very old Irish/Scottish farewell ballad. Fitting for saying goodbye to my little sister.......
Of all the comrades that ere I had, they're sorry for my going away,
And of all the sweethearts that ere I had , they wish me one more day to stay,
But since it falls unto my lot that I should rise while you should not,
I will gently rise and I'll softly call, "Goodnight and joy be with you all!"

Thank you for everyone's kind words written here. Holly was an amazingly strong woman and fought her illness very hard. She was truly a woman warrior these past few years, but unfortunately, God had other plans for her. She is in heaven now with her beloved 14 year old dog, Cougar, who died just three weeks before her.

Beautiful girl that left us far too soon. My memories of you are full of laughter and big smiles. May your kindred spirit live on through the lives of my uncle and cousins that loved you very very much. Whenever I hear them laugh it will be a constant reminder of your free spirit.
