Jackson

Jeffrey Robert Hoefler, of Jackson, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2015, at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ, with his devoted and loving family by his side. Jeff was born in Pt. Pleasant to Arlene and Bob Hoefler. He lived in Ocean County his entire life. Jeff was the Owner/Operator of the Lighthouse Restaurant in Jackson for the past 11 years. He enjoyed creating an atmosphere where folks could celebrate the grand moments of life as well as the everyday. He was a great chef and enjoyed the challenge of the business. Jeff was also an excellent mechanic and worked at the Bil-Jim Construction Company in Jackson as much as he could, enjoying the opportunity to use those skills as well. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son and brother. He loved his family above all else and is survived by his wife, Kathleen Hoefler, daughters, Kaitlyn Wolfinger and her husband Max of Somerville, Libby and Jesse, both of Jackson, as well as his mother, Arlene Davis of Daytona Beach, FL, his father, Bob Hoefler, of Brick, sisters Lori Gromis of Daytona Beach, FL, Amy and Pete Mullen of Pt. Pleasant, Jennifer and Curt Bowens of Toms River, Cheryl and Ron Jandoli of Brick, Marianne and James Gribbon of Boynton Beach, FL, and his brother Jason Carey of Brick, as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Jeff loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He was a member of the Royal Flush Hunting Club where he spent many many mornings with his good pal, his English Pointer, Meg, as well as his other buddies. He was Blessed with many wonderful friendships. He will be deeply missed. Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Sunday, November 1 from 1 - 5 pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, DeBow Chapel, 150 W. Veterans Highway, Jackson. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 AM Monday, November 2, at St, Veronica RC Church, Howell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeff's memory to CHOP Foundation at give.chop.edu. or by mail to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation, PO Box 781352, Philadelphia, PA 19178.
