John Nuzzi Obituary

John Nuzzi

AGE: 60 • Red Bank

John Nuzzi, 60, of Red Bank passed away suddenly on December 20, 2015 at Riverview Medical Center. He was born in Brooklyn on April 7, 1955 and he had the accent and swagger to prove it. He worked for 20 years for the New York Department of Sanitation, culminating in weeks spent sifting through the wreckage at Ground Zero after 9/11. John was lighthearted and funny, quick with a joke and prone to breaking out in song in the most unlikely of places. They say everyone has a talent, but his was more like a superpower: he provided the people in his life with certainty that everything would turn out ok, because he would always be there for them. Even now, in death, that still feels true. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kelly, his children, Jonathan and Olivia, his brothers, Frank and Chris, and sister Diane, along with nieces, nephews and cousins, all of whom he loved dearly.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 16th from 4-7 p.m. at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 riverside Avenue, Red Bank, N.J. 07701.
