MARIAN MAYERS
AGE: 72 SCOTCH PLAINS
On Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, Marian Mayers transitioned from this life to the next. Marian was 72 years of age and resided with her husband of 52 years, Pete Leroy Rodger Mayers, at 310 Farley Ave., Scotch Plains. Marian was born March 30, 1929 in Plainfield. She graduated from Plainfield High School and worked as a senior lab technician at Mobil Chemical for over 30 years. Marian was known for her generosity, her charity, hosting family gatherings, supporting friends and family with money and by opening her home to those in need, and for the many delicious meals she has meticulously prepared for all. She loved games, Christmas, and Astrology.
She is predeceased by her parents, Stanley and Mary Green; and one sister, Marilyn Winn. She is survived by two children, Mubaashir Uqdah (born Clayton Allen Mayers "Chuckie") and Leroy Rodger Mayers Jr. "Skippy"; four grandchildren, Abdul-Raqeeb Mateen Uqdah, Aaliyah Mahasin Uqdah, Nikisha Bianca Mayers, and Raashon Malik Mayers; three great-grandchildren, Isaiah Tariq Jackson, Yasmin Mayers, and Dshawn Mayers; and one nephew, Arthur Leroy Winn.
The viewing will be from 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12 until the funeral services at 12 noon at Christian Fellowship Ministries, Plainfield. Arrangements by Judkins Colonial Home. Condolences can be submitted to www.judkinscolonialhome.com.
