Ramesh Varma Obituary

Dr. Ramesh C. Varma, died Saturday, Dec 15, 2012 at RWJUH. Dr. Varma practiced Ob/Gyn in Linden. He was on staff at Trinitas Hospital. Services will be from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 at Rosedale Cemetery and Crematory, 408 Orange Road, Montclair. Cremation will immediately follow the service.

Dr Varma was a kind man who was an amazing doctor. My mother and he were good friends and colleagues, and after she passed away unexpectedly four years ago he thoroughly supported my career as an internist. Just today I saw a patient that he had referred to me.
I will always remember the jolly twinkle in his eye, and he will be greatly missed. My condolences to the Varma family.

I believe that men reach levels of greatness in many ways, but none so honorably as Dr. Varma. Perhaps it was the perfect fusion of Indian morality and family love; it is not really for us to understand. But, for all of us who were blessed by being his friend or colleague, our lives were enlightened because of him.

We met Dr Varma through a friend of ours, Mr Shashi Patel of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Dr Varma will be fondly remembered in our hearts as one of the most wonderful persons we have ever had the privilege of knowing. May God grant his soul eternal peace.

I WAS THE FIRST PATIENT HE HAD WHEN HE OPENED HIS PRIVATE PRACTICE BACK IN 1982. DR VARMA TEASED ME HE WANTED ME TO NAME MY SON STEVEN, RAMESH BECAUSE HE WAS THE FIRST BABY PICTURE TO BE HUNG IN HIS OFFICE. HE WAS THE GREATEST IN MY BOOK. SO SORRY TO HEAR OF HIS PASSING
