Maria, I don't know if you will see this note... I'm not even sure how I came to see this... It's as if this page called my name. I am so very sorry to hear of Ray's passing. Through the years that have gone by, I have thought of all of you and I wish you beautiful memories to replace your sadness. Please extend my sympathy to Ray. Peace, always... Cathy (formerly, Grau).

You are my guiding light in the goodness comming from sour soul. That is the part of you that I see connects me with your mother, Boowie, my grandmother. I love you uncle Ray. I would go on and on but I think ...I will just say ...see you in my thoughts...and in our destiny...sometime in the future...Tommy

Maria, Ray, Billy & Nick,

I was only 15 when I first met "Uncle Ray". His presence was like that of a grizzly bear, a hugh man and somewhat frightening as I remember it, but with head cocked back the first big laugh filled the Drake Ave kitchen and suddenly he was transformed into the big teddy bear I grew to love.

Our young families spent plenty of hours together in those early days, so much fun, but alais, that was many many cheesburgers ago.

I'll always remember Ray as Tom's big brother. They always seemed so happy to spend time with each other, have a beer and a good story about the "old days".

I regret that I was unable to be with the family during your loss, but I'm sure you understand that someone had to hold down the fort while Tom attended.

In life, I think we all regret that we don't have more time to spend with the ones we love and now that opportunity is gone for me forever. I'll never forget Ray, and can only say that you are the lucky ones for being loved by him in return.

Dearest Maria, Ray Lee, Billy and Nick,
I was crushed to hear of Ray's passing and that I missed Ray's funeral. I have the best memories of Ray from when I was a kid. I will always remember him as a caring, loving man and most of all my dad's best friend. We were sharing memories of Ray the other day and my dad said he was the only person when in his presence could always make him feel like a kid again. Ray will be deeply missed especially by our family. I am grateful for the friendship he gave my dad all those years from when they were kids. My dad misses him every day and wishes he could share one more laugh with him. Ray was always good to all of the Fitzpatrick's and he will be truly missed. all my love, Erica Fitzpatrick-Avery

Maria, Nick, Ray & Bill,

Our hearts go out to you and the extended Grau family.

We so admired our Uncle Ray. He cut such a strong figure, yet kindness was at his core. He easily balanced the rigors of a demanding career and his life as a devoted husband and father. His smile was infectious and often lit up the room. He bore illness with strength and courage.

We will miss him.

Well Ray, I'm sorry to say that sunday night had to be our last drink together... You know when I think of you its hard to believe we won't be meeting at the rose and heading to the chateau for our pattened steak and potatoes. I have to say over the last Year you've taught me a lot ... How to be patient and good things will come. How to stay loyal and close to those few Good people in your life. And how a calm and generous attitude reaps an opportune life! You have been a 2nd Father to me in many ways. When I have been down and out stressed beyond my years you were allways there to help whether w keen advice or an extra buck to cover the bills. I allways knew w You ray I allways had a place to turn in my Dark hours an ear to listen and some tough Love even if it wasn't what I wanted to hear at the moment I frequently enjoyed Solice in the fact that I allways knew where I stood with you and "nothing was too little" ;) You are and allways will be remember as A GREAT MAN and an even BETTER FRIEND and will allways be Thought of with a smile and a great story. As well as a Tear shed for a Friend in which I will never have the chance to meet again.. I love you Ray and I miss you and think of you in every decision I make.Though unfortunatley I won't have your advice, I promise I'll use what you've taught me instead of a rash decision. Your Friend and proud to say other son. Chris. Untill I see you again on the other side Where I know you'll be sittin waitin for me at a table laughin with that comforting way about u, where we can talk again as our lunches were some of my favorite times... Ill see you soon old friend!
