Steven Schiffman Obituary
STEVEN R. SCHIFFMAN
AGE: 53 SOUTH BRUNSWICK
Steven R. Schiffman, 53, passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at his home in South Brunswick. Mr. Schiffman was born in Paterson. He grew up in Highland Park and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1974. After high school, Mr. Schiffman attended the University of Miami in Florida and CW Post in Long Island. After college, Mr. Schiffman joined Sheldon Pontiac in New Brunswick, a family business which was established in 1954. In 1975, Steven expanded his father's automobile dealership to Route 18 in East Brusnwick, where Steven and his brother Cory were partners for 33 years. Mr. Schiffman was a member of the New Jersey Automobile Dealers Association, Green Acres Country Club and Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple in New Brunswick.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; his daughter, Amy; his stepsons, Michael and Brian Slepian; his brother, Cory and sister-in-law, Abbe; and his mother, Barbara Lampert.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple, 222 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick. Interment will follow in King Solomon Cemetery, Clifton. Memorial contributions may be made to either Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple or to the American Cancer Society, 2600 Highway 1, North Brunswick. Arrangements are by the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick.

Cory,
You may not remember me but I have really fond memories of you and Steven from our childhood. Both Dick Beck and Steven Tamaroff told me of Steven's passing and I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you and your family.
I have kept in touch with Jerry Levine (whom I spoke to this AM and he also is saddened by the news), Alan and Gary Stein and several other HP people. Beck told me that the Stein boys both came to NJ to the funeral and paid their respects.
That was really great of them.
I hope that you and your family are comforted by Steven's memory. His memory should be a blessing for you and your family.
