Virgilio F. Addonizio of Jackson, New Jersey, known by many as Jim or James, and by loved ones as Gig, died peacefully with his beloved daughter, Nicole, by his side at his "home away from home", Monmouth Medical Center, on the 14th of December, 2016, in Long Branch, New Jersey at the age of 70. Jim was born in November of 1946 in Irvington, New Jersey to Frank and Marie Cecere Addonizio of Middletown, New Jersey.

Jim is survived by his daughters, Nicole Marie Addonizio of Ocean Gate, New Jersey and Jennifer Addonizio of Little Silver, his precious grandson James Landon Addonizio, his beloved sister, Diane Long and her husband Howie, his three beloved nephews, Christopher and his wife Megan, Kyle, Howie Jr., and his great-nephew, Waylon James Long. Jim was preceded in death by his loving parents, Frank and Marie, who fondly called him Giggy. Jim is remembered with love by his ex-wife and friend, Karen Rokosny, niece Devany, sister-in-law, Sharon Gajewski, mother-in-law, Jonthea Prusinski, and close friend TJ Shovlin, who he loved like a son, as well his Monmouth Medical Center family, all who surrounded him with love during his final day.

Jim loved spending time with his two cats, Freddie and Gabby. He also loved playing guitar and having jam sessions with his many friends. He enjoyed being part of the Central Jersey Rifle & Pistol Club and was an avid supporter of the 2nd Amendment. Growing up, Jim was a Boy Scout and achieved the significant status of Eagle Scout. The young Jim played guitar in several Shore bands including The Tekes. Jim was employed by Monmouth Medical Center as part of the security team. Prior to that, he was employed by Grainger for 20 years before retirement.

Jim will always be remembered for his immense love for Nicole and James, and the laughter he enjoyed bringing to others. A service to celebrate the life and legacy of Jim will be held at a future date.
