Sarah Moshier Obituary
GALLIPOLIS — Sarah A. Moshier, 90, Gallipolis, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Holzer Assisted Living, Gallipolis.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 30, 201,8 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis. Burial will be conducted at the convenience of the family in West Union Street Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday one hour prior to service.

This is how I remember her. So beautiful, so talented, so generous. She was always my favorite teacher. She showed me how to look at everything in a different light. Her influence on my life has been unending. Every time I pic up a pencil and just start sketching while Im on the phone, the way I arrange furniture, the way I study the veins of a leaf, I owe it all to her well trained eye that always encouraged me to look again, look deeper. I had known for the past few years that her health was failing, but had always hoped to see her one more time. I remember her laughter and her gentle way of leading. She was truly an artist - with an enormous heart, and passion that matched it.

Bert, you must be so proud of your great legacy! Your mother was a second mother to so many of us at KCHS. She was my favorite teacher from the first grade, but much more than an art teacher, she taught me how to look at life, and people and how our differences make us unique, and that we are an American patchwork of varied colors and ethnic backgrounds. She taught me how to look for ways I could change an injustice - art to the very rawest level and I felt what she taught me. Because of her, I went to Paris and walked through the Louvre and saw magnificent works of art that I'd learned about. Because of her, I adjust the angle of a chair just a little, or readjusted a sculpture on a shelf. Because of her, I look at this world through different eyes. I met you a few times when you were very young. You were her greatest treasure, and I hope you draw comfort from knowing that, and how greatly she was loved!
