DALLAS — On Tuesday, June 5, 2018, the Lord called up our beautiful son, Paul Lawrence Brace, 24, to play the most important game of his life. Paul graduated from Dallas High School, Class of 2012, where he received numerous accolades for athletic prowess, including First Team All-State and MVP of the UNICO Game. Paul was a varsity starter all four years in both football and basketball. He also excelled as a member of Misericordia University's inaugural football team. His drive, motivation and determination inspired everyone who knew him. One of his greatest pleasures was being called "coach." He took his role as a leader very seriously and inspired a new generation of players to love the game as much as he did. He was an all-star on and off the field.
Paul took great pride in being a ninth-generation partner in Brace's Orchard. Paul was surrounded by love and is survived by his parents, Paul Brace and LuAnn (Higdon) Brace; brother, Logan Brace; sister, Brielle Brace, all of Dallas; maternal grandparents, Ernest Higdon and the late Theresa (Proietto) Higdon, of Pittston; and paternal grandparents, Larry Brace and Nancy (McGraw) Brace, of Dallas. He will be deeply missed by his aunts and uncles, Linda (Brace) and Jerry Mancinelli, Sherry (Higdon) and Jerry Chapman and Brian Higdon; cousins, Megan Mancinelli, Kristen Chapman, Tyler Chapman, Josh Lewis and Jaxon Chapman; and pets, Cider, Creamy and Daisy. He also leaves behind an entire squad of loving extended family and friends. As The Chosen One always said, "God Bless."
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2018, in Gate of Heaven Church, 40 Machell Ave., Dallas. Interment will be private at the convenience of family. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Paul Brace Jr. Dallas Athletic Scholarship Fund of the Luzerne Foundation, C/O The Luzerne Foundation, 140 Main St., 2nd Floor, Luzerne, PA 18709.

God Bless your son and family. I took my two young sons to a Dallas basketball game and pointed your son out to them. I told them, 'That's the way you play the game.' Today I informed them of this tragic news and as current college students they still recall that evening some 7 years later.
