How do you say good-bye and tell the family and friends what they already know? Russ was a great man that would sit and talk with you and actually listen. He always had good advice when you needed it but never pushed his beliefs onto you. As previously stated he was a mountain of a man that I looked up to my whole life. When he was going with my sister I was probably about 5 years old, as soon as I saw Russ coming I would run to the door and as soon as Russ walked in I would promptly jump on his foot and ride around on his leg! He spoke of that nearly every time we got together. I was five then and now 76 and considerably heavier and have offered to recreate that, but he would laugh and act scared and say not on your life! He made my sister Ladonna happy and he made the rest of us happy, What more can be said. Shelley and I no longer referred to him as brother in law...JUST BROTHER. Russ and Sis are together again and are both happy.

Russ was one of the best! He was a great giant of a man that was respected by all who knew him. He was one of the older cousins in my generation (Dad´s nephew) and I was at their house a lot. Vicky & I were together every weekend, either my house or her´s. I was very close to Russ & Donna and I could always count on them to be in my corner if I needed them. You will be greatly missed Russ, but I´m so glad you are all reunited in the house of our King. Until we meet again, RIP...
I love you.

The world lost a great man yesterday. He was fantastic husband, father, father in law, grand-father, brother, uncle, and friend to so many. He was my best friend and mentor. I will miss him more than I can say. But he is with the love of his life, Mom, and his daughter, Nancy, his sisters Virginia and Mary, and his parents Joe, and Opal.
Dad all I can say is I will LOVE you the rest of my life.

I am heartbroken to lose Uncle Russ. He was my guy. I loved the way he thought, how he processed information, how right and wrong were guideposts he lived by. I loved the way he loved Aunt Donna and his family and me. After we lost Mom I relied on Uncle Russ for support - what would Mom have said to me if she were still here - and he came through every time. The rocks in my life have been Mom, Aunt Gin and Uncle Russ. I'm feeling a bit lost. Grieving with you. Love Rose

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. I loved Uncle Russell so much because of his sense of humor and his steadfast protection of his family. He was always so protective and caring of Mom and I adored him for it. I am truly sorry for your loss. He was a terrific person.
