Nancy Kay Retherford, 67, of South Jacksonville died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
She was born June 4, 1953, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Charles and Betty Wright McFadden. Nancy married Ralph Retherford Jr. on Feb. 24, 1984, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, and he survives.
Nancy also is survived by four children, Patty Jones of Jacksonville, Michael Lee Dennis of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Toni (Shawn) McNeece of Murrayville and Scott Retherford of Jacksonville; eight grandchildren, Barak Jones, Taj Jones, Michael Dennis II, Alexis Dennis, Kylie Dennis, Reagan Retherford, Carter Retherford and Keaton Retherford; two great-grandchildren; three siblings, William D. (Robin) McFadden of Jacksonville, Charles Richard McFadden of Springfield and Patricia Ann Michael; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Roger McFadden.
Nancy was administrator of Skyview Nursing Home in Jacksonville for many years. She attended First Christian Church and enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, crafts and traveling. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and grandpups. Nancy had a positive impact on every life she touched.
Services will be announced at a later date. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left online at airsman-hires.com.
