Alice Sheldon Obituary
Alice was born Nov. 16, 1935, to Russell and Lily (Bardell) Clark in Topeka, Kan. On Oct. 11, 1955, Alice married Robert Sheldon in Remington. He preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 1993.
Alice was a 50-year member of the North Carpenter Home EC Club. Alice attended the Zion Mennonite Church until it's closing. Alice enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing and baking. She also spent many years helping with 4-H projects.
She liked to keep busy and enjoyed being outdoors, especially in the little red garden shed that Bob had built. Her real joy and blessing were her family and her home on the farm where she was able to be until the last six weeks of her life.
Surviving is her son, Roger (Viktoria) Sheldon, Winter Garden, Fla.; daughters, Rhonda (Mike) Kennedy, Rensselaer, Rowena (James, dec.) Furrer, Chino Valley, Ariz., Roberta (Mike) Schluttenhofer, Thorntown and Rolanda (Dean) King, Frankfort; grandchildren, Skylar Sheldon, Skyla Sheldon, Leslie Kennedy, Michelle (Kevin) Nuest, Bethany (Dan) Dubach, April (Brett) Gecha, Tim (JaNon) Furrer, Andrew (Amanda) Furrer, Sarah (Chris) Taylor, Rebekah (Johnny) Stewart, Craig (Hannah) Schluttenhofer, Rachel (Andrew) Bosserman and Sister Irenaeus; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. Also surviving is one sister, Jean Rosenkranz, Dewey, Ariz.
Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband are son-in-law, James Furrer; brothers, Russell Clark Jr., George Clark and Ted Clark; and sisters, Helen Valentine, Hazel Shamel and Florence Thomas.
Visitation will be from 4 - 7 p.m. EST Sunday, Aug. 25 at the Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home, Remington. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. EST Monday, Aug. 26 also at Stitz-Clapper Funeral Home.
Private graveside service for immediate family at Welsh Cemetery following the funeral.
Memorials may be made in Alice's memory to the Welsh Cemetery.
