Lesa Soler Obituary

Lesa (Mathew) Soler, 69, Sebring, Fla., passed away peacefully at her home on Aug. 23, 2025.

She was born on Feb. 27, 1956, in Lafayette, to the late Raymond L. and Martha May (Troxel) Mathew. Lesa attended public school in Wolcott and she was a graduate of Rensselaer Central High School, Rensselaer.

Lesa proudly served in the United States Air Force for 17 years, where she exemplified courage, discipline, and unwavering commitment to her country. Her military career was marked by honor and integrity, and she remained deeply connected to the values of service long after her time in uniform. Before moving to Sebring, Fla.

Lesa was known for her love of the outdoors, especially hunting with her significant other, Robert Boise, and the joy she found in spending time with her family. Lesa was the tenth of a family of 12. She cherished moments of laughter with her siblings, the fun conversation catching up on what everyone was up to. Her warmth, humor, generous spirit, and laugh made her a cornerstone of a family gathering.

Lesa is survived by her companion and significant other, Robert "Bob" Boise; surviving siblings, Tom (Nancy) Mathew, Dale (Shirley) Mathew, Mary (Mathew) Poindexter, Karon (Mathew) Lynd, Sharon (Mathew) Reinhold, Vickey (Paul) Sietsma, Mackey (Deb) Mathew, Nickey Mathew, Kimmie (Mathew) Deneen, Eric (Monica) Mathew; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Lesa was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Judy Mathew.

Lesa touched our lives and will be in our hearts forever. Lesa is loved and will be greatly missed.

There will be a gathering to celebrate Lesa's life in Sebring, Fla. at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the VFW Post 4300, Sebring, Fla. (1041 Lakeview Drive, Sebring, Fla., 33870)
