Charles Stephan Obituary

CONWAY | Charles J. Stephan, 63, beloved husband of Janet Ann Stephan, died at home, Nov. 19, 2004.



He was born Sept. 11, 1941 in Hamilton, OH. Charlie lived most of his life in Portage, Mich. before retiring to Conway in 2001. He was a tool and die maker for General Motors for 40 years and a member of U.A.W. Local 488.



Besides his wife, he is survived by three adoring children, Diane Alberts and her husband Joseph, of Troy, Mich., Richard J. Stephan and his wife Jamie, of Portage, Mich., Sandra Burruss and her husband Dan, of Tampa, Fla.; three sisters, Marjorie Stephan and Connie Whipple, both of Tampa, Fla., Nelle Stephan-Lutz of Keystone Heights, Fla.; a brother, John Stephan of Portage, Mich.; and four grandchildren, Marisa and Lauren Alberts and Quinlyn and Mikaela Stephan.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22 at St. James Catholic Church, Conway. Inurnment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Conway.

Janet,

We extend our sympathies to you and yours at this time. Charlie was a good man who was a great provider to the family. I remember our visits to Kalamazoo when I was younger. Charlie was a man of principle and conviction. He worked hard to provide.

I'll never forget the timre that his Father died and we stayed behind to watch your Kids. My Father took us boys to a Detroit Tiger game duing 1967 or 1968. That was a insight into the real world during a tough time in the USA.
