David J. Lally, age 69, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 after a brief illness.
Mr. Lally was born in Orange, NJ., a son of John R. and Mary Brower Lally. Mr. Lally was a Retired Police Lieutenant with the Township of South Orange Village in Essex County, NJ. He was a life member of the New Jersey State PBA Local # 12, a member of the Coastal Carolina Shields, and an avid golfer. Mr. Lally was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother
Survivors are his wife, Margaret Lally of Myrtle Beach; three sons: David J. Lally, Jr., and Douglas W. Van Brunt, Jr., and his wife, Tracy; and Wayne A. Van Brunt; two daughters: Linda Lally and Ann Marie Lyons and husband, Steve; brother: John R. Lally, Jr.; two sisters: Mary Lynn Lally and Ruth Ann Schornstein; two grandchildren: Douglas W. Van Brunt, III and Ciara M. Van Brunt.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, June 28, 2014 at McMillan-Small Funeral Home, Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 12:30pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN. 38105 or to Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675

Fond memories of my Edson family growing up as neighbors and friends with Dave and the Lally family and continuing friendship with Marge and Dave through Dave and Tony's years working together on the So. Orange Police Dept.
