Derrick "Button" James Sr.
March 6, 1951-February 12, 2016
Galivants Ferry
Mr. Derrick "Button" James Sr., age 64, husband of the late Debi D. James, passed away February 12, 2016 following an automobile accident. Mr. James was born March 6, 1951 a son of the late Jack Byrd and Helen Leitha Roberts James. Mr. James was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. He loved hunting, fishing and was an active supporter of Relay for Life. Surviving Mr. James are two sons, Derrick James Jr. (Michelle) and Nicholas James (Renee) all of Galivants Ferry, one brother, George "Tump" Dennis James, of Galivants Ferry, two sisters, Jackie Hardwick (Edward) of Aynor, Dixie Ray (Ricky) of Galivants Ferry, four grandchildren, Nora Lynn James, Emma Kate James, Skylar Alexis Stewart, Payson River James, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday February 15, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home of Aynor. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday February 16, 2016 at Pisgah United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jane Pearce officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials can be made in Mr. James's memory to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123. Sign an online guestbook at www.johnsonfuneralhomeofaynor.com.
