Doris Jacenich Obituary

PAWLEYS ISLAND | Doris D. Jacenich, 85, of Litchfield Country Club, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at home.

She was born Feb. 5, 1918, in Rhea, Okla., a daughter of the late Horace and Nora Gamble.

She was the widow of Rudolph ''Rudy'' Jacenich.

She formerly lived in Yuba County, Calif., for 60 years and retired from the Marysville School System. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was past president of the St. Joseph Altar Society, past president of Catholic Ladies Relief Society No. 2 and past regent of Catholic Daughters Court, Marysville 640.

In 1998, she moved to the area to live with her daughter and family.

She was a devoted wife and loving mother.

Survivors include a daughter, Vera ''Vicki'' Covington and her husband, H. Bruce, of Litchfield Beach; two sons, Ronald D. Welch and his wife, Ginger, of Marysville, Calif., and James P. Jacenich and his wife, Lisa, of Monterey, Va.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by 10 brothers and three sisters.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Goldfinch Funeral Home, beach chapel.

Services and inurnment will be later in Sierra View Memorial Park in Marysville.
