Harry Parker Obituary

GEORGETOWN |Harry L. Parker, 82, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.



Mr. Parker was born in Sylva, N. C. on Oct. 27, 1920, a son of the late Lemuel R. Parker and Celia P. Parker. He was a retired Communication Engineer with Woodland Division of International Paper Company and owner and operator of Parker Electronics. Mr. Parker was a charter member of Wayne United Methodist

Church and sang in the choir. He was a member of the Pine Tree Club, a pilot, and lifetime member of the Amateur Radio Association.



Survivors include his wife, Wava Morris Parker of Georgetown; two sons, Harry Parker Jr. and his wife Alva of Lexington, and Keith Parker of Georgetown; two daughters; Sandra Parker of Charleston, and Sharon Turner and husband Joey of Pawley's Island; a sister, Alice P. Stanford of New Bern, N. C.; eight grandchildren;and five greatgrandchildren.



The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, at Wayne United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. A. Stephen Holler. Burial will follow in Elim United Methodist Churchyard near Andrews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 18, 2003 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home.
