John H. "Jack" Sweezy
October 9, 1934 - April 19, 1934

John H. "Jack" Sweezy, Sr., 78, of Surfside Beach, SC, died peacefully on April 19, 2013, at home with his beloved wife, Deborah (nee Ross), at his side.
Jack was born October 9, 1934, in Paterson, NJ to John J. and Mary (nee Murphy) Sweezy. Growing up he and his family lived above the Chestnut Grove Hotel in Singac N.J., which his family owned. He attended Holy Angels Grammar School and Passaic Valley High School. Jack served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Jack was Owner/Operator of John H. Sweezy Plumbing and Heating and also served as Building/ Plumbing Inspector for the Township of Little Falls. Jack served as a volunteer for the Little Falls Fire Department, Singac Company #3, where he held various positions including that of Assistant Chief from years 1959 to 1976. Jack played on the township softball team for several years as well as enjoyed surf fishing in Long Beach Island and Hunting in New York State. Jack later became property manager for Cali Associates Inc. at Tenby Chase Apartments in Delran, NJ retiring in 2001 after 25 years. Jack enjoyed the camaraderie after work with his sons and coworkers at "The Shop". In keeping with his commitment to his community, Jack became involved in the Moose Lodges in both Delran and Murrells Inlet, SC as well as the Elks Lodge in Murrells Inlet.
Father of John, Jr. of Little Falls, NJ; James of Riverside, NJ; Patrick and his wife Joan of Delran, NJ; Pamela and her husband Joseph Cannataro of Little Falls, NJ. Jack is also survived by eight grandchildren Jacob, Benjamin, Sarah, Brooke, Briana, Rachel, Mia, and Scarlett.
Jack was predeceased by his parents and brother, Robert; and Phyllis DeGennaro-Sweezy

Dear Jackie,James Patrick,Pam and Debbbie,
I am so sorry for your loss of your Dad ,and Debbie your husband he was always kind to me . Time will heal your hearts he will always be with you as your Mom is they will live forever in heaven in place were sickness and pain no longer lives. I don' t if you remember me but 70 river blvd has great memories of all of you..Please know my heart and prayer go out to you all. Love Dani
