Margaret Prater Obituary

MYRTLE BEACH | Margaret Prater, 79, died Saturday, May 17, 2003, at the Meadows at Jordan Care Center.

She was born Oct. 21, 1923, in Pelzer, a daughter of the late Alvin and Mae McCall.

She was a homemaker who loved to sing and cook for her family, and will be remembered for her fondness of red birds. She was a charter member of Ocean View Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach.

Survivors include two sons, Blandon Prater of Myrtle Beach and Mitchell Prater of Lexington, Ky.; two daughters, Sharon Bartholomew of Myrtle Beach and Linda Niner of Hagerstown, Md.; two brothers, Andrew and Alvin; two sisters, Martha and Dorothy; eight grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Chester Prater.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m today at Ocean View Baptist Church. The Rev. Steve Cromer and the Rev. Kirk Lawton will officiate. Burial will be in Ocean Woods Cemetery.
