Waymon Webster Obituary
Mullins
Waymon Young "Sunny" Webster, III, 69, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at a Florence hospital.
Born in Mullins, S.C., he was a son of the late Waymon Y. Webster, Jr. and Ovileen Taylor Webster. Mr. Webster attended both Wingate College and the University of South Carolina. An avid golfer and lifetime Gamecock, Mr. Webster was co-owner of Webster Distibuting Company. There he serviced hundreds of stores throughout the Pee Dee, Horry and Dillon counties, until he retired nearly five years ago. Mr. Webster loved people, laughter and his family. He was a man that knew few strangers.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Turner Webster of the home; two sons, Young Webster of Mullins and Will Webster and his wife, Paula, of Mullins; his grandchildren, Taylor and William Webster; a brother, John T. Webster and his wife, Willa Dean, of Nichols; two nieces, Ginger and Joni; two uncles, Jack E. Webster and William E. Webster, both of Mullins; and last but certainly not least, his dog, Lucy.
Graveside services will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in Cedardale Cemetery, with the Rev. Kem Thomas officiating. The services will be directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Macedonia United Methodist Church, 402 N. Main St., Mullins, SC 29574.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family at this difficult time. I am so sorry that I did not know of Sonny's death until tonight (Friday). Sonny was a very special person, and this world is a better place for his having been here. He will certainly be missed, but heaven gained a wonderful angel. May he rest in peace.

I am so sorry to learn of this loss. My sympathy to all of you. My father, Joe Webster, loved Sonny and always laughed and spoke fondly of him. I am sure they will now meet again, laugh once more and discuss Carolina football.

Sorry to learn of Sunny's death. He was a great friend at Wingate during our young and foolish days. I will always remember his love for you and his family. I haven[t seen him since we took the real estate exam to together in Myrtle Beach. It was great to see him and laugh with him after many years. You are in my thoughts & prayers.
