Arthur L. Perry, 89 of Streator and formerly of Oglesby died at 7:24 a.m. July 14, 2024 in his home.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Saturday July 20 in the Shields Funeral Chapel, Oglesby. The Rev. Paul Carlson will officiate. Private burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Saturday in the funeral chapel.
Art was born March 19, 1935 in Anthony, Kansas to Clarence and Cora (Carmichael) Perry. He married Faye Webb June 15, 1957 in St. Anthony's Church, Streator. She died February 23, 2019.
Art had a long career as a union truck driver, doing both local and long distance routes. Most recently working for Roadway, he won numerous awards and driving competitions. His love for driving continued, as he and Faye traveled the US in the motorhome they both loved.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Church, Streator. He served in the Illinois National Guard.
He is survived by a son Jeff Perry of LaSalle, 2 daughters; Susan Varges and Debbie (Mark) Neuman both of Chicago, 6 grandchildren; Ryan, Adam, Emily, Troy, Nena and Kylie 2 brothers; Ivan(Barbara) Perry and Larry Perry both of Streator, a sister Gladys Perry of Streator and a sister-in-law Alice Perry of Streator.
He was preceded in death by his wife Faye and a brother Wayne Perry.
