Died: February 6, 2023 in Jacksonville, NC
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 22nd at 11:00 am, visitation one hour prior at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Streator, with the Rev. William H. Callister officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery with full Military Rites. Dave was born to John and Gert (Cipalo) Stansbury. He married Heidi Richter on November 23, 1985.
He is survived by his wife, Heidi, mother, Gert, sister, Kelly Quaintance, sister-in-law, Jane Stansbury. Children and grandchildren: Thomas (Rebecca) Richter, Hannah, Jakob and Isabella, Cassandra (Rodney Henriquez) Christianna, Lucille and Alexia and Christopher Stansbury. Nephews: Brian (Megan) Stansbury, Rob (Jenna) Stansbury, Trevor, Payton and Eli Quaintance. Great nephew Carter Stansbury and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Dave graduated from Woodland High School in 1977. He served in the US Army from 1983 to 1991, during which he was stationed in Bayreuth, Germany and Fort Hood, Texas. He later logged many miles over the road as a semi-truck driver. He enjoyed being a part of the Reading Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was a proud Opa to his six grandchildren. He was a devoted Bears fan and avid animal lover, especially of St. Bernards. During his retirement in North Carolina, he attended Barber School, enjoyed time with his family, listening to music and cooking.
Dave is preceded in death by his father, John, brothers, Jim and Brian, niece, Isabella and his grandparents. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue (TMAR) in Rolla, ND.
