Died: July 17, 2025 in Ottawa, IL
E. June Walleck, 85, of Ottawa, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, at Pleasant View.
June was born in Ottawa, Illinois, on May 11, 1940, to Ray and Blanche (Gumm) Peters. She was a proud graduate of Ottawa High School, where she mastered Gregg's Shorthand system. Her first job was working for First National Bank, and she later built a successful career as a legal secretary.
She married Jack Walleck on December 27, 1958, and they began their life together in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where Jack was stationed with the 101st Airborne Division. Her dedication to her profession and attention to detail served her well throughout her working years.
June found great joy in life's simple pleasures, particularly sewing and traveling with her beloved husband, Jack. While most of their adventures kept them close to home, their most treasured journey was to Hawaii, where they celebrated a milestone wedding anniversary-a testament to their enduring love and partnership.
She was most proud of her family and was a kind soul to everyone. June was a never-ending supporter of her husband and children in all of their endeavors, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams. She will forever be known for her kindness towards all who knew her.
June is survived by her two children, Roger (Linda) Walleck of Columbia, MO, and Jacqueline Lambros of Fort Myers, FL. She was the cherished grandmother of five grandchildren: Jamie, Kristin, Mallory, Gregory, and Nicholas, and the devoted great-grandmother of five great-grandchildren: Nora, Lily, Fiona, Ava, and Caleb.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her four brothers and a sister; her husband, Jack; her youngest son, Anthony; and her son-in-law, Alex Lambros.
June's legacy lives on through the many lives she touched with her kindness, her dedication to family, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
