Died: September 1, 2024 in Streator, IL.
Rose L. Araujo, 88, of Streator passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 at her residence.
Private services will be held. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Streator. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a late date. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Born October 8, 1935 in Toluca she was the daughter of Bernard and Frances (Murphy) Fredericks. She married Gilbert Araujo on October 11, 1954 in Hollysprings, Missouri. He passed away May 22, 1972.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra (Craig Treschak) Martin of Streator; a son, Dennis (Joan) Araujo of Wentzville, Missouri; grandchildren, Stephen Martin of Wheaton, Katie (Bryan) Essman of Ottawa, Jessica (Craig) Nevels of Wentzville, Missouri and Jonathan (Kortney) Araujo of Wentzville, Missouri; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Bernard (Joyce) Fredericks of Bensenville and Raymond (Mary Ann Martinowski) Fredericks of Florida; and a sister in law, Patty Fredericks of Streator;
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Fredericks and a sister, Joyce Hritz.
Raised in Toluca she graduated from Toluca High School.
She worked for Owens Illinois Glass Company in the Selecting Department for 40 years.
Rose was a very patriotic person and an avid Chicago Bears fan. Her family and her grandchildren were her life. She enjoyed traveling with her friends to shows and musicals through the years. She will be dearly missed by her loving family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of the donor's choice.
