Theresa Gilman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home - Fitchburg on Dec. 24, 2025.
FITCHBURG: Theresa A. (Kast) Gilman, 62, of Fitchburg, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, December 21, 2025.

Theresa was born in Fort Bragg, NC, October 2, 1963, the daughter of Diane (Claire) Kast and the late Dalton Kast and has resided in Fitchburg for the past 10 years.

Theresa grew up in Canton, Ohio, graduating from Perry High School. She continued her education at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Later, she took classes at Fitchburg State University.

Theresa worked many years as an office support specialist for several firms including TYCO in Gardner, Bemis Associates in Shirley, Gradient Corporation in Cambridge, as well as the FLLAC Collaborative.

A born-again Christian, Theresa accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior when she was 13. She was an active member of Calvary Chapel in Chelmsford for 20 years and was previously a member of Christ Church, Fitchburg.

She loved Southern Gospel and Christian Contemporary Music.

Theresa considered her happiest achievement leading her husband, William S. F. Gilman, III, to a saving faith in Jesus Christ.

Theresa enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and internationally by boat, train, car and plane. She and Bill loved teaming up for lengthy road trips. The couple also visited Mexico, Jamaica, Belize, British Columbia and Alaska.

Theresa was a true animal lover and was sure to locate and spend time at a zoo in whatever area she happened to visit. She had a special affection for Fiona the hippo, at the Cincinnati Zoo.

Her animal adventures included swimming with manatees in Florida's Crystal River, swimming with stingrays off the coast of Grand Cayman, witnessing salmon spawning in Alaska and midnight moose spotting along the back roads of Moosehead Lake in Maine.

She was an accomplished botanist and baker and was known for her holiday baking and confectionary treats.

In addition to her husband and her mother, she is survived by two sons, Padraig Gilman and his wife, Casey, and Kieran Gilman both of Leominster; three grandchildren, Ahryanna Karl, of Fitchburg, Skyler Gilman and Keegan Gilman, of Leominster, two sisters-in-law, Winifred Rivard and her husband, Richard, of Ashburnham and Ellen Bizzotto and her husband, Michael, of Westminster, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A service celebrating Theresa's life will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Calvary Chapel, 131 Stedman Street, Chelmsford, MA

That was a very loving tribute for someone who was very loving. Rest in His loving arms, in the care of the One who will bring us all together again.
