A. Terry Adlof

Terry, age 93, of Holland, MI and formerly of Ann Arbor, MI, was taken home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Resthaven Care Center Holland Michigan. He was born on November 22, 1930 in Ypsilanti, Michigan. He was the son of Anton Bernhard "Ben" Adlof and Carmen Luella (McIntyre). He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donelda (Heiser). He is survived by his two sons, Eric (Barbara) Adlof of Jackson, MI and Ben (Sherry) Adlof of Holland, MI; his grandchildren, Lauren Adlof and David Adlof; sister, Jeanette DePlanche; as well as many treasured nieces and nephews.
Terry served his country in the Navy as a radioman during the Korean War. Terry married Donelda Heiser and they lived in Ann Arbor where they raised their family. They attended Redeemer Lutheran church in Ann Arbor. Terry worked customer service for American Airlines, at Hatch Stamping Dexter, and retired from Fingerle Lumber in 1995.
Terry was a voracious reader, an avid woodworker, and he was talented at pencil sketching and the arts of calligraphy and scrimshaw. He loved watching birds in his backyard and occasionally practiced Morse code.
Terry was a quiet, funny, gracious, devout Christian man, who loved to sing and enjoy all the Lord gave him.
He was a Loving Husband, Devoted Father, and an Amazing Grampy.
Terry was loved by all who met him.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 11:00am with a gathering beginning at 10:00am at Nie Family Funeral Home - Liberty Chapel, 3767 W. Liberty Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48103. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery, Ann Arbor, MI.
