Phillip Wrey Adlof

Phillip Wrey Adlof, 58, passed away on September 21, 2025, in McKinney, Texas, after a courageous battle with metastatic melanoma. Born on November 17, 1966, in Sherman, Texas, Phillip lived a life marked by deep devotion to his family, unwavering faith, and a generous spirit that touched countless lives.

A proud graduate of Sherman High School's Class of 1985, Phillip began his career working in the family's brick and block contracting business. His dedication and work ethic propelled him forward to become Chief Estimator at Gallagher Construction. In this role, he was instrumental in building a strong team committed to enhancing educational facilities across Texas-positively impacting the school experience for thousands of students. His leadership and vision continue to inspire those who worked alongside him.

To his loved ones and colleagues alike, Phillip-affectionately known as "Uncle P"-was a larger-than-life presence. He was a teddy bear at heart who delighted in roughhousing with the kids he adored, teasing them with affection, and spoiling them whenever possible. His sense of humor was legendary; he was a master of "BAD Dad jokes" that never failed to bring laughter. Whether cheering on the Dallas Cowboys or solving escape rooms with friends and family (his cherished "framily"), Phillip brought joy and energy to every gathering.

Travel was one of Phillip's great passions. He especially loved trips to Disney and the Cayman Islands and had an uncanny knack for discovering the best local food spots-brunch being a particular favorite. Wherever he went, he made memories that will be treasured by all who shared those adventures with him.

Phillip's faith was central to his life. He served as a loving Christian mentor to many and was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer guidance without hesitation. His generosity knew no bounds-but he also stood firm in his convictions and wasn't someone you wanted to cross lightly.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer Walker Adlof; his daughter, Kaitlin Marissa Adlof; his brother Paul Wayne Adlof and sister-in-law Shelly Adlof; his sister Debra Adlof Sudderth; and too many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins to list-all of whom were deeply cherished by him.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Marijohn Adlof; his nephew Jeremy Sudderth; and his niece Hallie McMahan.

In recent months, Phillip faced significant health challenges with strength and grace. After melanoma spread to his brain last December and later into his spinal fluid this spring, he underwent two weeks of intense radiation at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston during July and August. He spent many of his final days receiving care at Baylor Scott & White - McKinney. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, technicians, and caregivers who supported Phillip throughout this journey.
